Forget Taylor Swift, John Cena’s final run will be wrestling’s Era’s Tour. From the days of
dueling “Let's Go Cena” and “Cena Sucks” chants in the 2000s and 2010s, it’s all finally coming
to an end for the WWE stalwart. Cena announced at July’s Money in the Bank that 2025 would
be his last year as an active competitor.
While many thought they’d “Cena Nuff” during his most active period in the WWE, now it seems
like we’re losing more than just a grown man in jean shorts. For many of us, we’re losing a piece
of consistency, a piece of our youth and a piece of ourselves. But now, it’s time to make some
money. Let’s take a look at some of the futures you can place on John’s final run.
Will John Cena Win the Royal Rumble? No -400 Yes +250
The Doctor of Thuganomics has already won the Royal Rumble twice in his storied career and a
third time would tie Stone Cold Steve Austin for the most in WWE history. While it might be a
nice fairy tale start to his final year as an active competitor, he doesn’t need it and currently it
doesn’t make sense. You could tease that it could happen along the way but use it to further
another storyline or to make another star who could one day fill Cena’s shoes.
Will John Cena Make the Final 4 of the Royal Rumble? Yes -300 No +200
While Cena doesn’t need to win the match itself, making it to the final four seems like something
that would make sense to tease a Rumble win for the Hollywood star. 2024’s final four was CM
Punk, Gunther, Drew McIntyre and the eventual winner in Cody Rhodes. A solid finish that not
only set up multiple storylines for the future but built new ones as well. So yes, Cena making it
down to the nitty gritty of the match in the final four is a definite possibility because you can still
tell a story without him needing to run the table.
John Cena Wrestlemania Opponent
There are plenty of different wrestlers who could get the nod to be Cena’s final Wrestlemania
opponent in 2025. The question is will they decide to go with a classic rival in someone such as
Randy Orton or get him to give the “John Cena rub” to a younger talent like Bron Breakker?
While it is fun to fantasy book him against some of the other available legends on this list such
as Ric Flair, Kurt Angle and The Undertaker, they’ve undoubtedly had their last match for the
WWE.
One that I find interesting is Stone Cold Steve Austin at +5000. Austin has alluded to the fact
that he may appear at Wrestlemania 41 since he now lives in Nevada.
But still, to see “Big Match John” lock ‘em up with Randy Orton on the Grandest Stage of Them
All one more time would provide fans with a punch of nostalgia. Isn’t that what this run is about?
It’s like seeing a storied rock band in concert on their last tour. You pay to hear them play the
hits, the classics, one more time. A majority of us grew up watching Cena come through the
ranks and can remember the countless battles he had with the Viper along the way. Yes, at
times we complained about the repetitiveness, but maybe we didn’t know how good we had it.

Wrestlemania Match to be for a World Title
Yes -120 No -120
Cena is one World Title away from breaking Ric Flair’s record of 16 World Championships that
has stood for decades. In fact, many were surprised when Cena tied Flair at 16 but now, those
same people are pushing for him to break the record. Personally, I don’t think he needs a World
Championship but should he win one, what better place than Wrestlemania to do so.
It’s also early enough in the year that he can have a bit of a run with presumably the World
Heavyweight to make it mean something. One thing fans don’t want is to have Cena win it just
for the sake of it being his last year and final Wrestlemania. Make it mean something and
elevate others along with you in a good story and it will go down as one of the greatest runs of
all time.
