Euro 2024 odds: England (+325) slight favorites ahead of France (+350)

June 10, 2024

With just months before the start of Euro 2024, bookmakers have England as a slight favorite to

win its first major trophy since the 1966 World Cup. Four years ago, it was heartbreak for The

Three Lions as they fell to Italy in penalties in the finals. Then two years ago in Qatar, England

was eliminated in the quarter-final by France, who are the second choice at Euro 2024. So

could these two teams hoist the coveted championship, or can we see a dark-horse contender?

England (+350)

England has one of the favorable draws in the group stage facing Serbia, Denmark and

Slovenia. Assuming they win the group, the Three Lions could still have some powerhouses

standing in the way. Defending champions, Italy in the quarters, France in the semifinal and

then the hosts, Germany or Portugal or Spain in the championship match. England had no

issues in qualifying and now are led by captain Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. A strong

showing vs Brazil should solidify Gareth Southgate’s squad. And then it’ll come down to the

team peaking at the right time this summer.

France (+350)

France was one goal or save away from defeating Argentina at the 2022 World Cup and since

that loss the roster has seen some big changes with Hugo Lloris, Raphael Varane and Karim

Benzema all retiring from international duty. But have no fear Les Bleus fans, Didier

Deschamps is back in charge and has assembled another star studded roster to make another

run at the European title. Seven wins and a draw during qualification and the French were

second in goals for scoring 29 goals in 8 games.

Germany (+600)

They are the hosts but Germany has had a tumultuous 12-months leading to this tournament.

After a series of unfortunate results, Hansi Flick was sacked and Julian Nagelsmann took over

in October 2023. While there were wins vs the US and a draw vs Mexico, Germany still lost to

Turkey and Austria suggesting it was more the players than the manager. Still, having home

pitch advantage helps, it all depends how far this roster can take them.

DARKHORSE LONGSHOT

Belgium (+1800)

After a disastrous exit in the group stage of Qatar 2022, the Red Devils cleaned house and

brought in a new manager but three veterans left the international scene as Axel Witsel, Dries

Merten, and Eden Hazard stepped away with their 365 international caps. Kevin De Bruyne

missed five months of action but has been back playing at Manchester City, although he was left off the Belgium roster for a couple of friendlies. If he’s healthy, he instantaneously makes

Belgium a contender
