NHL Futures Report: Post-Trade Deadline Odds Update

March 9, 2026

The 2026 NHL Trade Deadline has officially passed, leaving a trail of adjusted odds and reshaped expectations across the league. While Nazem Kadri’s return to the Colorado Avalanche headlines the transaction list, several other teams have seen their championship outlooks shift based on their final moves.

The Buffalo Sabres are the most notable movers in the Eastern Conference. After a flurry of activity, Buffalo saw their Stanley Cup odds jump from 33/1 to 20/1, while their odds to win the Eastern Conference have tightened to 8/1. In the West, the Anaheim Ducks improved their championship standing significantly, moving from 75/1 down to 45/1.

Conversely, the market has cooled significantly on the Washington Capitals and the Florida Panthers. Washington’s title hopes moved from 40/1 to 75/1, while Florida has experienced a total freefall. Over the last week, the Panthers have moved from 28/1 to 50/1 and finally to 100/1 following a combination of trades and a poorly timed losing skid.
