Travis Hunter captured the 2024 Heisman Trophy and will likely be a top-3 pick in the NFL Draft. The Colorado star was a rare two-way player, excelling both as a receiver and as a cornerback. With Hunter's unique talent setting the bar high, the field for the 2025 Heisman is wide open. Let’s take a look at the odds of some of the contenders for the most coveted award in college football,.
QB Arch Manning, Texas (+600)
With Quinn Ewers expected to head to the NFL, it’s now the Arch Manning show at Texas. The nephew of former NFL quarterbacks Eli and Peyton, Manning has patiently waited for his chance. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Manning has both the physical tools and the pedigree to become a college sensation. In his freshman season, he completed 61 of 90 passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions. With Steve Sarkisian running the offense, Manning will have every opportunity to succeed in 2025.
WR Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State (+1200)
Jeremiah Smith was one of the top receiving prospects of his class and proved his worth in 2024 with 57 catches for 934 yards and 10 touchdowns. He made his biggest splash in the CFP quarterfinals against Oregon, torching the Ducks for 187 yards and two touchdowns. Known for his sensational one-handed grabs and impressive hands, Smith dropped only two passes all season. He was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Wide Receiver of the Year. His ceiling in 2025 could be even higher.
QB Carson Beck, Miami (+1800)
Once considered the favorite to be the top pick in 2025, Carson Beck transferred from Georgia to Miami. After spending five seasons with the Bulldogs, winning two national titles, and compiling a 23-3 record as a starter, Beck threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 2024. However, he suffered a UCL injury in his elbow during the SEC Championship Game. If he recovers from the injury, Beck has the potential to be one of the top players in college football in 2025.
QB Drew Allar, Penn State (+1600)
Drew Allar showed significant improvement after his freshman season and could take another leap forward as a junior, especially with playoff experience under his belt. In 2024, he threw for 2,894 yards, 21 touchdowns, and completed 69% of his passes. As of now, Allar has led the Nittany Lions into the final four of the CFP, and with that experience, he could be poised for a big 2025.
WR Ryan Williams, Alabama (+2500)
It’s remarkable that Ryan Williams, who doesn’t turn 18 until February 9th, already has such a high Heisman profile. The freshman had a spectacular debut, including an 84-yard touchdown against Western Kentucky. Williams finished his season with 45 receptions, 857 yards, and 8 touchdowns. Though his production slowed in the second half of the season, with just one touchdown in his final six games, his raw talent is undeniable. If Alabama’s passing game improves, Williams could become one of the best receivers in recent college football history.
