A battle of a couple heavy hitters in week one between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 20 Texas
A&M as both programs look to open the 2024 season with a victory. Both squads have
undergone personnel changes both on and off the field but now it’s time to see if it’s all paid off.
We’ll take a look at a few key player props in this Saturday matchup.
Notre Dame
Riley Leonard: Under 195.5 Passing Yards
Prior to ending up out with an injury last season, Riley Leonard was considered deadly on his
feet. He averaged 7.3 yards per carry and 5.5 yards after contact with 14 of his 53 runs going
over 10 yards. This is brought up because he’ll go back to the well once again rather than look
to the air. Add in the fact that Texas A&M allowed 5.3 yards per carry to opposing quarterbacks
last season and we should see Leonard take it himself every chance he gets.
Jaden Greathouse: Under 36.5 Receiving Yards
While Jaden Greathouse has made strides to move up in the wide receiver depth chart, it’s
tough to say whether or not he’ll crack the 37 yard mark in week 1. He eclipsed 37 yards just
three times last season and with a new QB behind center who definitely is prone to carry the
ball himself, Greathouse may not see that many touches in week 1.
Texas A&M
Le’Veon Moss: Over 53.5 Rushing Yards
With a much more experienced offensive line in front of him, things should open up for a
returning Le’Veon Moss this season. New offensive coordinator Collin Klein is coming over from
Kansas State where he ran the ball 55% of the time last season. Moss averaged 5.0 yards per
carry last season but with more touches, he could rack up the yards fast.
Conner Weigman: At Least 229 Passing Yards
While we only saw Conner Weigman get the start in four games before getting injured last
season, he still was able to put up a PFF passing grade of 90.9 and avered 8.2 yards per
attempt. In the three games he was able to finish, Weigman was able to throw for at least 230
passing yards in each contest.
